FAQ'S

DERMAL FILLERS
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers can last 6-18 months dependant on the product/brand used. Your practitioner will discuss.
Will I see the results immediately?
You’ll see results instantly. Occasionally top-ups are requested to optimise the final enhancement – we can discuss if required. Please note that dermal filler is priced per syringe and any top-ups will incur additional costs.
Is it painful?
A topical anaesthetic is used prior to your treatment to optimise patient comfort. Dermal fillers also contain lidocaine anaesthetic to provide some mild discomfort rather than pain during your treatment. Inform your practitioner if you have any known allergies to anaesthetic prior to treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately after your treatment there is likely to be swelling, tenderness, slight redness and bruising around the treated area. These side effects will subside after a few days.
Treated areas can look uneven or bumpy for a few days following treatment. This is due to swelling which will subside. The use of antihistamines is advised.
Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?
We usually like to provide a cool-down period between your consultation and treatment as this gives you time to consider your treatment plan and ask any further questions you may have. Many patients have researched extensively or have had treatment previously, and would like the treatment on the same day. Obviously, that’s fine – just let us know when you book so that we allocate enough time.
ANTI WRINKLE TREATMENTS
How long do anti-wrinkle treatments last?
Results can last approximately 3 – 6 months depending on age, lifestyle and quantity of product used. We recommend returning every 3 to 4 months to ensure the effects do not wear off entirely. With repeated use, effects have been shown to last longer.
Will I see the results immediately?
The results from botulinum toxin are not immediate, it takes approximately 10 to 14 days to see the full effects of the treatment. A follow up appointment can be scheduled at two weeks; a complimentary top up can be offered at this consultation if advised by your practitioner. Unfortunately after 2 weeks, any top-ups will be charged in full.
Is it painful?
Botulinum toxin is administered using a very fine needle which is injected into the muscle. Most people find the treatment relatively pain less due to the minute needle used to inject.
Are there any side effects?
Localised bruising at the site of the injection could be observed.
Some patients experience headaches, nausea and flu like symptoms for a few days following treatment.
Allergies to botulinum toxin are very rare.
Eyelid ptosis (drooping) or a feeling of heaviness over the eyebrows can occur in a small number of people, this can last for a few weeks. It’s important to inform your practitioner at your next treatment if eyelid ptosis occurs.
Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?
To ensure patient safety, new legislation has been put in place which demands face to face consultation with a prescriber prior to treatment. This allows for a 24 hour cooling down period between consultation and treatment, therefore you have time to consider your treatment plan and ask any further questions you may have. process the information given to you about the procedure. Prescriptions are valid for 6 months and botulinum toxin treatments can be carried out during this period. If your prescription is valid and would like treatment on the same day, this is fine – just let us know when you book so we can allocate enough time.
