Lactic acid is one of the most popular alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) used in cosmetic products and serums in skin care, reducing acne breakouts and the appearance of wrinkles and signs of aging. It is more recently use as a safe way to extract pigment and ink from the skin, over older forms of tattoo removal such as glycolic acid.
